There are all of the hours in a day, and most of us would have acknowledged that most of them belong to sitting or lying down. We may sit more and walk less thanks to the incredible, practical techniques that our modern society has created to master daily life! 

With our computers, cell phones, and remote controls, we can do almost everything from the comfort of our couch simply pressing buttons.  Fast food, pharmaceutical, and bank drive-throughs are meant to make life “easier” and save us time by enabling us to remain in our automobiles and not take a single step.  The majority of public schools have had to reduce physical education and recess, which are the only opportunities for students to move their bodies throughout their lengthy school days, and the majority of job titles in today’s society require many hours of sitting every day.

We move significantly less than society did even a few decades ago as a result of this way of living.  We also consume more unhealthy meals, drink more coffee and lattes, and thus get less sleep.  We all know that something needs to change since rising obesity rates, even among children, are concerning.  Many of us have spent a significant amount of money on the hundreds, if not thousands, of diets, medications, and fast solutions that are available on the market.  However, did they make any corrections?  Most likely not!

Write down how many hours you believe you spend moving each day after taking a time to consider your typical day and habits.  Next, make a second column and record the number of hours you spend sitting and sleeping.  Next, think about the following:

 What would happen if we began moving our bodies every day to replace the hours we spend sitting?

 What would happen if we used our own bodies to do activities instead of relying on so many conveniences and sitting a lot?

1. A happier and less stressed mood

Endorphins, serotonin, and dopamine—natural compounds that improve mood, lower anxiety, and give you a boost of energy and optimism—are increased when you move.

2. Improved Sleep

Frequent exercise helps balance your circadian cycle, which facilitates falling asleep, staying asleep, and waking up feeling rejuvenated.

3. Higher Levels of Energy

Consistent movement *creates* energy, despite the fact that this may sound counterintuitive. You feel less lethargic during the day when your circulation and oxygen flow are improved.

4. Diminished Pains and Aches

Particularly in the back, hips, neck, and shoulders, gentle, regular movement strengthens supporting muscles, lubricates joints, and lessens stiffness.

5. Improved Digestion

Your digestive system is stimulated by walking and other modest exercises, which reduce discomfort, constipation, and bloating.

6. Improved Mental Clarity & Focus

Increased blood flow to the brain from movement promotes increased creativity, faster thinking, and sharper focus.

7. A more robust immune system

Frequent exercise strengthens the immune system, making it easier for your body to fend off disease.

8. Better Heart Health

Even mild cardio, such as vigorous walking, strengthens the heart, increases circulation, and decreases blood pressure.

9. Improved alignment and posture

By strengthening the core and stabilizing muscles, movement lessens the tension caused by extended sitting.

10. A Feeling of Success

You gain self-assurance, stability, and a sense of control over your own health when you set aside 30 minutes each day for yourself.

The nicest thing about it is that you may move your body for free! The list of advantages is endless!  You don’t have to buy pricey equipment or gym subscriptions.  You only need your body to perform basic, enjoyable motions! One of the biggest hazards of our time is inactivity.  We frequently concentrate on terrorist attacks and natural catastrophes, and even though we have seen numerous tragedies, we manage to overlook a significant tragedy that is happening right in front of us every single day.
